Women Leading Cleaner, Healthier Communities
Safisana has worked together with market women through workshops and demonstrations to strengthen the economic and environmental resilience of the market spaces they depend on. By equipping women with practical knowledge and leadership skills, we teach women how to manage waste responsibly, keep food areas clean, and safeguard their communities from disease.
Inspiring Young Minds for a Cleaner Future
In many low-income urban communities, children grow up surrounded by unsafe waste practices that threaten their health, environment, and future opportunities. Through workshops and interactive visits, Safisana facilitates awareness training on proper hygiene, waste segregation, and circular waste solutions. By empowering young learners with knowledge and curiosity, Safisana is nurturing a new generation that understands they need to build healthier and more resilient communities.
Youth Driving Green Entrepreneurship and Circular Innovation
Across Ghana, young people face rising unemployment while their communities struggle with mounting waste and environmental challenges. Yet this same challenge holds enormous potential for innovation, livelihoods, and climate resilience. Through targeted training programs, Safisana equips youth - especially young women - with skills and confidence to build sustainable enterprises in the circular economy.
Media Voices Shaping National Awareness on Sanitation
We partner with the Ghana WASH Journalist Network to deliver dedicated media engagement days, in-depth training workshops, and visits to our recycling plants. Through these sessions, journalists gain direct insight into how organic and fecal waste can be transformed into safe, valuable, resources. By strengthening the capacity of journalists to cover sanitation and environmental issues with depth and clarity, Safisana is helping build a more informed public and inspiring a national movement toward cleaner, healthier communities.
Building a Greener Future with African Farmers
Safisana’s farmer training programs focus on building the practical skills and confidence farmers need to transition to more sustainable and profitable practices.
Through hands-on farmer trainings, demonstration plots, and product trials for organic fertilizers, we help farmers improve crop performance, build healthier soils, and reduce their reliance on costly chemical inputs. Together with partners such as Farmerline and Plan International, we are strengthening farmer livelihoods and driving a growing shift toward greener, climate-resilient farming practices.
Field Trials for Sustainable Farming
Safisana leads agricultural research efforts to showcase the benefits of climate-smart organic alternatives like Asase Gyefo Organic Premium Fertilizer over chemical fertilizers. We conduct field trials with partners and demonstration studies across multiple crop types to understand how organic soil enrichment performs under real farming conditions. By combining scientific research with farmer-led observations, the project is building a robust knowledge base that guides a wider adoption of organic inputs and strengthens climate resilience across Ghana.
Radio for Climate-Smart Agriculture
In many rural areas, farmers are eager to adopt better practices but lack access to reliable agricultural information. Safisana’s radio campaign bridges this gap by delivering practical, trusted guidance on organic fertilizers directly to farmers’ homes and fields. By equipping farmers with actionable knowledge, Safisana is driving behaviour change, supporting healthier soils, and fostering a national movement toward a more sustainable, climate-smart agriculture.
