Why this matters
Declining soil fertility, rising input costs, and increasing climate pressures make it harder for smallholder farmers to maintain yields and incomes. Many farmers rely heavily on chemical fertilizers, which can degrade soil health over time. Improving access to organic fertilizer and sustainable farming practices strengthens productivity, resilience, and food security.
The Project
Through the Growing Better Harvests project, Safisana Ghana will expand the distribution of organic fertilizer and provide training to smallholder farmers, with a special focus on women farmers. The project supports the adoption of sustainable farming practices that improve soil health, increase agricultural productivity, strengthen household incomes, and contribute to long-term food security.
